Missy Moment The West Series Book 4 edition by Jill Sanders Literature Fiction eBooks
I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the writing style, I liked the straightforward love story, and I liked the characters. What I didn't like was the extraordinary number of typos and the fact that 90% of all conversations and events were directly about the romance.I really liked the main characters. Our heroine, Missy, is a nurse and definitely not a shrinking violet. She is clear about what she wants and works to get it. Missy is very likable and capable and definitely someone I enjoyed following. Reece is also likable and I enjoyed that he was realistically physically damaged from riding broncos for a living. He's also a man with strong feelings.
The love story is pretty straightforward without lame plot mechanisms to cause tension. I don't want to give any spoilers, but think of the various plot mechanisms (such as the Terrible Secret) and throw them out the window. Missy's Moment is virtually free of such artificial situations. It was also free of any plot other than the romance, which always makes a book feel one dimensional to me.
JS's writing is very spare while containing quite a bit of detail about what the characters are doing and how. I like how she managed to get a lot of back story into the book without it feeling like an info dump. It didn't make me want to read the previous books, but at least I felt I was caught up. There is very little angst in this book, which for me is generally a good thing. For some reason, though, I felt that Missy's Moment felt a little flat. The professional writing style was a weird contrast with the large number of typos. The excerpt from the next book was particularly full of typos. Maybe that's why I had so much trouble finding the heart in this book.
All in all, not a bad read, but probably one not one I'll go back to.

Missy Moment The West Series Book 4 edition by Jill Sanders Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a fantastic book. You meet and learn to love these characters who are so real. it takes great talent to bring people to such life on paper. Jill Sanders does a superb job of this. Her style of writing is great! Don't miss Missy's Moment in your reading of this series or you will have missed something great!!!!!
In this book Melissa returns to her hometown after a nursing internship in Houston. She will be working in her hometown clinic. There are many interesting twists and turns to the plot which lead to a happy ending.
Missy returns to her hometown and works in the clinic. She doesn't want or need complications in her life.
Reece has come to Fairplay to stay at his cousin's ranch so he can recoup from his injuries. He then runs into Missy and can't believe his luck. Even though he can't stand the sight of blood he wants to get to know Missy better.
After spending time together and deciding that Reece is not going anywhere they decide to move their relationship further.
This is a great sweet read and another of Jill's great books.
I was given this book in exchange for a honest review.
Reece West had spent some of the best days of his life in the small town of Fairplay. Spending time on his uncle’s farm with his cousins, he and his brother could relax and not have to worry anything that they may have or may not have done that would warrant a vengeful beating from their dad. Now that his Dad has passed away, he’s looking for a place to settle down and Fairplay, Texas seems like a good place to start. A trip to the clinic though brought him in touch with one Melissa Holton. He hadn’t planned on settling down with a women by his side but one look at Missy and he couldn’t think of anything that sounded better.
Reece seemed a lot older to me than just twenty-five but he had been through quite a bit in his short life and his character was written flawlessly, at least in my opinion. I love that the great big burly cowboy had a weakness and wasn’t afraid to admit it but when it mattered most, he stood strong. As for Missy, well she was a hot mess, not in a bad way but boy when she decided that she wanted Reece, there was nothing that would stand in her way and I’ve got to tell you, she was a bit of an instigator and I wasn’t expecting that at all.
This was another amazing addition to the West Series. I was really excited when I found out that the series wasn’t going to end after the three West sisters were all married off. I love Jill Sanders books because her books are about small town loves and sweet romances and those are right up there with my favorite types of books to read. Next up is Breaking Travis that by some little writing miracle is already out but the one that I can’t wait for is book six which will feature Reece’s twin brother Ryan. The release date for it is set for October 31st.
Characters keep growing and being developed in this series. The good thing about the West books is that they're fun, light reads, although with Missy's Moment I had two main issues. For starters, the same problem that runs rampant in the previous three installments the amount of grammar and punctuation mistakes is way too high. Jill, if by any chance you're reading this, please read your books again because there are instances where actual sentences are repeated sequentially and it's just bad to read something like that. Another issue is the somewhat lazy writing; while the characters are interesting - Missy is a refreshing breath of fresh air with an actual education and professional goals, and Reece's personal struggles make him quite compelling, even if we only get the tip of the iceberg with him and there's a lot more development that could've been given to him - the dialogues are lazy, clichéd, repetitive and way too forced.
I've already read the first four books in the West Series and while the characters are the best thing about them, even if they're nowhere as developed as they could be, the writing and mistakes found keep disappointing me. I bought the bundle of all books and will read them all, but if I keep finding things like the ones I'm not happy about, I won't be checking out any of Jill's other series.
Let's hope Travis redeems himself and the series.
