This is a must read for all aspiring equine photographers. It was very well written and is very useful as a reference guide. I keep it on my iPAD. Thank you.
The book has some beautiful images and it was fun looking through them. I am somewhat new to horses and horse photography in the past year and this book challenged me to look at motion in a new way. Some of it is intuitive, but it gave words to what I had been feeling when viewing images and gave me specific guidelines to strive for. There were some other tidbits of info that were helpful to keep in mind when specifically photographing horses. I am glad I got the book, but I don't think it would be helpful for intermediate to advanced horse photographers.
Interesting book, especially helpful for the novice.
I purchased this book for my daughter for a school project but also spent some time reading it myself. It is a very good basic photography book - beautiful photography with good information for the novice photographer.
Capturing the spirit of a horse is either an explosion of good fortune or the pursuit of a sincere and practised eye ... Feeling every hoofbeat and using every faculty attached to the camera and a lifetimes experience to predict mother natures perfect moment a millisecond before she unveils . Time enough to allow the light of that instant to fall onto a lifted mirror and exposed sensor. Carol describes this well , her tips are solid and will , if heeded, make the recycle bin lean .. And memories bountiful. A lovely read.
As an animal practitioner, I have discovered that due to my requirement of taking photos before and after of the animals I am treating, my photography has become a passion and the more I do the more I wish to know, so this book is a great start. The purchase was a trouble free and positive one. I have yet to read the book but I am sure that it will be a great teaching experience.
This is a wonderful and very helpful book for beginning to intermediate horse photographers. Carol's writing is easy to understand and the photos are amazing.
I was out photographing some wild horses in Colorado about 6 weeks ago and came home with very mixed results. Now with Carol's book I know what I did wrong and will have much better photos next time I go.
