I loved this one as I have the rest of the stories in this series I love Scotland and going back in time to this era the heroes are strong and so loving. This is Maggie's story the McArthur Chieftain's daughter and she can hold and use a sword better than she can a needle and thread so grab a drink of choice and sit back and enjoy her story.When Maggie gets separated from the group that she is travelling in and meets up with Dhugal Robertson although there is such a spark at their first meeting she does not realize that her life will change in such a good way she has shunned the men that her father has bought forward in the hope that she will marry but none have given her the feelings that Dhugal has.
Dhugal is a broken man in his words not through his fault but that if his uncle but he is determined to get his home back and even more so now that he has met the woman that he will love forever , this is such a great story one that will have you smiling and cheering them both on as they journey through some tough times to a drama filled HEA.
I highly recommend this story especially for lovers of historical romances.

Great read
I rated this book because I like how Dughel and Maggie found each other. The chieftain stories are good in a series.
A very good story of a young man who had lost all and the daughter of a neighboring Lord who find love and happiness. Good reading g for anyone.
Well, this book was very entertaining. I found myself chuckling to myself a good bit. I loved Maggie's choice of soul mates. A very easy and enjoyable dread.
Could not get into this one. Usually love her books. Stopped reading it about six times because it was annoying. Felt more like cliff notes of previous books and does not stand on its own at all. I have read all the others but this one feel flat.
This is a good short story that does not get sidetracked by minutiae. Unfortunately the constant insertion of "afore" and to a slightly lesser extent "frae" , was extremely distracting. Had these two words been used in character conversations some would have been bearable . I found my mind gritting its teeth as I kept a running count. I will think twice before buying another book from this series. This was the first one of these I have purchased
This novella is a good addition to the Chieftain Series. It is a short story, but the characters are well developed, and the H/h are a likeable couple. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked an epilogue, with an update on the couple a few years later. But other than that, this is an enjoyable story, and I recommend it to anyone who likes Highlander romances.
